serial #5703w, 9mm, 4'' barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces of this 1939-dated pistol retain about 92% original blue showing high edge wear, scattered freckling, light dings and gripstraps starting to tone to gray patina. The grip screw heads show some light slot damage and the ejector the usual plum patina. The checkered walnut grips are un-numbered but stamped with the appropriate ''(Eagle) / 655'' Waffenamts and remain in very good plus condition showing some lightly chipped points, minor dings and handling marks. The rear toggle pin is numbered is ''98'' or ''86'' but the remaining serialized parts are matching including the grooved firing pin. Included with this pistol are one original blue-bodied aluminum base magazine showing moderate wear and scattered light pitting numbered ''8662i'' with a ''+'' and ''(Eagle) / 63'', a spare unmarked reproduction magazine, unmarked likely reproduction loading tool and an original brown 1939-dated holster. The holster remains in good overall condition showing moderate scuffs, scratches and light staining scattered throughout. The buckle is intact, the stitching strong and the back is marked ''KARL BARTH / WALDBROL'' with ''(Eagle) / WaA145'' and ''1939''. Overall a very nice Luger rig for the military collector.
