serial #FW93096, 20 ga., 26'' armor steel barrels choked modified and full with bright excellent bores, the right tube showing a very light ding 4'' from the muzzles which has been partially raised. The barrels retain about 98% original blue, the loss is due primarily to some very light fading nearer the muzzles and a few very sparsely scattered, very light handling marks or scratches from the years. The frame and lockplates are very nice retaining a similar amount of vivid color case-hardening, showing light loss on the right fence and some light toning at the forward carry point of the frame. The triggerguard still exhibits excellent original blue with some slight loss in the area of the grip, the forend iron with all of its blue. The checkered walnut capped pistolgrip buttstock and splinter forend rate excellent, the buttstock showing nice antique crazing finish on both sides of the butt and a bit at the lockplates, likely due to some manner of gun solvent, also a few minor handling marks and light dings; the forend appears very nearly as-new. The length of pull to the original grooved hard rubber buttplate is 14 1/8'' with drops of 1 1/2'' and 2 1/2'' The lockup is bank-vault tight with the top lever still right of center. Really a super field grade ''Elsie'' that appears to have seen very little, if any, use. (38902-4) {C&R} (2500/4000) Sold For 2070.00
