651. Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver

serial #230346, .31 cal, 6'' octagon barrel with a very good bore showing light oxidation and strong rifling throughout. The barrel of this revolver retains about 35% original bright blue scattered throughout flaking to plum-brown patina also showing some tool marks around the wedge. The cylinder is a medium gray patina showing strong remnants of the stagecoach scene. The hammer and frame retain some very strong case-hardened colors particularly nice on the left side with overall thinning to gray patina, the loading lever also a gray patina. The triggerguard and backstrap retain about 95% original silver finish showing some high edge wear toning to ocher brass and overall lovely tarnish. The smooth one-piece walnut grip is ink-numbered to the gun and remains in near excellent condition retaining almost all of their original finish showing some scattered small dings and light flaking at the high edges. All of the serialized parts are matching including the wedge and the action functions crisply with excellent timing and lockup. A very attractive long-barreled 1849 Pocket made in 1863.
