680. Early Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle

serial #56305, 30 W.C.F., 26'' round barrel with a bright excellent bore. The barrel and magazine retain 90-95% original blue evenly thinning to brown, the loss due to some scattered fine staining, a tiny nick in the bottom of the magazine tube and light silvering along the edges of the muzzle and magazine cap. The action retains about 85% original blue toning to plum-brown with light flaking along the high edges and with some scattered fine pitting and oxidation. The edges of the loading gate shows strong original fire blue and the hammer and lever retain generous traces of original case-hardened colors muting to pale gray, the colors quite bright in areas. The plain walnut buttstock and forend rate excellent retaining about 95% original finish with only light handling marks present. The rifle is sighted with a Lyman Beach front sight missing the hinged protective ring and a Winchester Express rear sight. A very good plus to about near excellent 1894 manufactured in 1899.
