Click on images for enlarged versions.

45-70, 24 1/2'' barrel with an excellent bore that shows just a little light frosting in the grooves. This is a standard 24 1/2'' Sporting Rifle variation which has a brass disc hanging from the lower sling swivlel which is numbered ''309''. The consignor states that this is a Remington Museum tag and that this rifle was once part of the Remington Museum collection before passing through the hands of Arnold Chernoff, Bill Florence and William Drollinger. The left side of the barrel is marked at breech ''PPP3'' and the top of the bolt bears typical ''E. Remington & Sons'' address. The condition of the rifle is spectacular with the metal surfaces retaining 98% plus original blue finish overall. The bolt remains quite bright with just a little light oxidation staining present. The walnut stock rates excellent with 97% original finish remaining and with nice raised grain coming through. The smooth steel buttplate retains about 90% original blue finish. The rifle is sighted with a Beach style combination front mounted in dovetail atop front band and a standard flip-up ladder rear sight. A very crisp and interesting Remington Keene rifle worthy of further research. (17597-5) {ANTIQUE} (5000/7000) Sold For 0.00
